SBCSS ROP/Region 7 CTEIG Technical Assistance providers have been in collaboration with the National Integrated Cyber Education Resource Center (NICERC) to bring a teacher conference to Southern California focused on Cyber Security education. As CTE leaders and providers, you are probably already aware of the growing labor market needs in the industry sector of information communication technology. All industry sectors are impacted by the need to secure their information from bad actors, and there’s a high demand for experts who can safeguard technologically based operations and enterprises. This conference will provide teachers with access to cyber literacy, learning modules and project based learning experiences that can be integrated into the curriculum.
High School teachers will dive into the exciting world of Cyber and discover new ways to bring it into their classrooms. Cyber experts from NICERC will guide the workshops with hands-on activities, including Computer Principles curricula and a Parallax Boe-Bot for their classroom.
A free administrators’ day is also planned to provide a forum for cyber career pathway development, and for a deeper dive into the labor market for cyber security professionals addressing High Quality Elements #2- Curriculum & Instruction, and #5- Industry Partnerships (Labor Market Demand).
