Apply to the Center for Youth Development through Law's 2017 Summer Legal Fellowship Program. Please note the deadline states April 15th, but they have extended it to April 30th. This program is best for high school juniors, but they will also consider current high school sophomores and seniors.
The program includes:
- Law, Life Skills, and Leadership activities on the UC Berkeley Law School campus
- Mock Trials where students play the part of attorneys, investigators and witnesses
- Internships in law, government, or public service offices (placements include criminal law, housing law, California legislators, City Government, Police Department, Equal Rights Advocates)
- A Graduation Ceremony
- Follow-up Mentoring, including help with college and financial aid applications
Pay: You will be paid $1,800 for the summer.
Schedule: June 19 through August 18, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Classroom activities are held on the U.C. Berkeley campus, which can be reached by BART and AC transit.
Internships are located in Berkeley, Oakland, SF, and Richmond, and are accessible by public transit.
