Deadline: Phase II of the Educators Equity in STEM Micromessaging Academy

The NAPE Education Foundation is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for community college faculty in career and technical education (CTE) programs, and high school faculty who teach gateway courses for those programs.

EE-STEM II 2017-2018 will bring together 6 to 10 teams of community college and secondary CTE educators in one of two locations for Micromessaging to Reach and Teach Every Student professional development, starting with a Summer Institute in 2017, followed by further engagement through Professional Learning Communities over the course of the 2017-2018 academic year, culminating in a Capstone Showcase in summer 2018.

The goal of EE-STEM II is to enhance the teaching skills and practices of community college CTE faculty, and their secondary peers teaching gateway courses, leading to improved academic outcomes for students, especially those historically underrepresented in STEM by gender, race and ethnicity, and special population status, including students with disabilities.

Community colleges nationwide are encouraged to apply. Those selected will be provided resources through an NSF Advanced Technician Education (ATE) grant for travel, professional development, and related expenses, and each faculty participant will be eligible for a stipend upon completion of the program.

The deadline to apply is Friday, March 24, 2017.
